Dr. Chandra completed his PhD from Cambridge University in 1999 under the supervision of Prof Ian Fleming and developed a method to induce 1,5 stereo-centers in open-chain (acyclic) systems. He continued in Cambridge as a post-doc working in Prof S V Ley’s group until 2002 |

During his time in Prof. Ley’s group, Dr. Chandra worked closely with several multinational companies including Astra Zeneca, Syngenta and Avecia |

His past work encompasses stereo-controlled synthesis, nano-particulate transition-metal catalysis, development of micro-encapsulation techniques, development of solid-supported reagents and use of ionic liquids and super critical carbon dioxide as alternative solvents |
